6 Month Milestone Session
It is one of my very favorite things to get to watch “my babies” grow. Really truly, I feel so lucky when parents bring their babies back to me, and we get to record how much they have changed and grown in such a short amount of time! I think that’s one reason I am so passionate about recording that first year. So, so, so much changes in just the blink of an eye. I’m here to tell you (if no one else has already), that it is the very worst part of this whole parenting gig. Just how fast it goes. It’s like you blink, and that fresh baby, who was just born yesterday, is suddenly sitting and cooing and laughing. And before you know it, they are walking and talking, and then all of a sudden they are driving, and then leave you to start their own life. And all you have left is their pictures, and your memories. It’s horrible!!! And there are some really awful parts of parenting (have you ever held a puking 3 month old- heartbreaking), but the speed in which it flys past you is hands down THE VERY worst part. That whole “the days are long, but the years are short” rings so true!! Anyhow, before I start sobbing over my key board……pretty pictures.
A Sister and Her Baby
This time around with Miss KailAna, I had the joy of meeting and photographing big sister as well. Can I tell you how much fun this girl is??!!!! She had me cracking up the whole session!!! Such a ham and cheese! I loved it!! And she is one of the best big sisters I’ve seen in a LONG time. She just fussed and cooed over her baby sister non stop. Absolutely adorable!! Mom and Dad are definitely doing a great job raising these girls. They really are such kind, sweet, caring little people, and that doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Little Miss Sadie stole the show!! And that straggle tooth <3….oh be still my heart. Funny thing is she lost that second one just a few days later. But because we captured it just the way it was, Mom and Dad will always be able to look back and remember just how scared she was to pull it, and how long she left that poor thing hanging on by a thread. This. This is the stuff life is made of! I love it! Just absolutely love it. I’m so lucky to be let into peoples lives this way. Not for a second do I take it for granted. These things matter! It’s one of those things worth investing it. I don’t think any of my parents lokk back and go, “Man, what a waste of money! I wish we would have bought a TV!” It just doesn’t happen. These portraits will only grow in value over time. I know for a fact, just looking back at the portraits of my own sweet babies.
